Main distinguishing characteristics. Some dorsolateral setae thickened and serrate, not inserted in tubercles; j6 several times longer than z2 and 2–3 times as long as distance j6–j6; S4 absent. Posterior margin of sternal shield without median lobe. With 0–1 pair of pre-anal setae.
Remarks. Chant & McMurtry (2006a) included a single genus in Phytoseiulini , Phytoseiulus Evans , which was maintained by Chant & McMurtry (2007). Species of this genus have been reported from Brazil.
