Distribution in Brazil. Minas Gerais (Silva et al., 2010; Carvalho et al., 2012).

Distribution elsewhere: Jamaica.

Remarks. The records of I. neonobilis in Brazil are probably misidentifications of I. matatlanticae , given the morphological similarity between these species and the fact that the latter was described at approximately the same time as these reports. Furthermore, the type locality of I. matatlanticae (northern S„o Paulo state) is close to the locality in which I. neonobilis was reported (southern Minas Gerais state). Unfortunately, the mites collected by Silva et al. (2010) and Carvalho et al. (2012) could not be located for further examination. Therefore, this species was not included in the key later provided in this publication.
