Distribution in Iran. East Azarbaijan ( Samin et al. 2011), Tehran ( Modarres Awal 1997). General distribution. Central and southern Europe, Turkey.
Biology. It breeds in Pinus (Pinaceae) . Recorded in Iran from Pinus brutia (Pinaceae) ( Modarres Awal 1997; Samin et al. 2011). The gallery system resembles that of Ips acuminatus ( Schedl 1950) .
