Centris chrysitis Lepeletier, 1841 View in CoL . 162.

Type data: It is not clear how many females Lepeletier (1841) used to describe this species. One of those specimens bearing original Lepeletier’s label was found at MNHP and it was interpreted by Moure (1960b) as the “type”. According to the Article 74.6 of the ICZN (1999) this can be treated as a valid lectotype designation. The exemplar has the following data label: chrysitis [handwritten]\ 23 [handwritten]\ [circular label] du nord de la Capite de St Paul [handwritten]\ Type Lepelletier [handwritten]\ [red label] Holotype [handwritten]\ Centris maerens Perty ♀ m. type vergl! [handwritten] det. Friese 1898 [printed]\ MNHN, Paris EY25580 [data matrix code] [printed] ( MNHP). The type specimen is in good condition.

Type locality: Brazil: São Paulo state .

Comment: Centris chrysitis has only been recorded in São Paulo state ( Smith, 1854, 1874; Moure et al., 2007).
