Material examined. 1 male ( HIST), China: Yunnan Province, Honghe Hani and Yi Prefecture , Luchun County, Xiaoheijiang , 2017.VI.23, N22.6648°, E102.3603°, 440m, Xin Li leg., light trap GoogleMaps .

Distribution. This species was originally described from Vietnam. The new country record herein is documented from Xiaoheijiang (Xiaohei River) in Huanglian Mountain, the southern extension of the Ailao Mountains.

Diagnosis. Phanoperla vietnamensis is characterized by the dorsobasal finger-shaped lobe and the U-shaped large patch of hooks of aedeagal sac which is visible ventrally ( Fig. 5c View FIGURE 5 ).

Remarks. The forked Rs of forewing, the head pattern ( Fig. 4a View FIGURE 4 ) and terminalia ( Figs. 4b–d View FIGURE 4 ), and aedeagal features ( Fig. 5 View FIGURE 5 ) are synonymous with the description and figures of Zwick (1986).
