Kuhlia marginata ( Cuvier in Cuvier & Valenciennes, 1829) —Dark-margined flagtail STATUS AT MADANG. New record from Madang, based on specimens collected by W.-J. Chen on 5 Dec. 2012. CAS and NTUM material (CAS 63380; NTUM 10117).
DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. Indonesia east to Society Islands, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Primarily in freshwater habitats, rarely estuaries, 0– 2 m. Freshwater and transitional water.

STATUS AT MADANG. First record from Madang by Parenti & Allen (1991: 318). CAS and USNM material. DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. East Africa, Madagascar and Mascarenes east to Caroline and Tuamotu islands, north to southern Japan, south to Queensland ( Australia) and New Caledonia. Found in estuaries and fast-flowing stretches of middle and lower reaches of rivers, 0– 2 m. Freshwater and transitional water.
