Muraenesox bagio (Hamilton, 1822) —Common pike conger

STATUS AT MADANG. New record from Madang, based on a specimen collected by W.-J. Chen, St. PP 6. NTUM material (NTUM 10203).

DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. East Africa east to Philippines and Fiji, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Nocturnal; found in coastal waters including estuaries, 1– 100 m. Transitional water and marine.
