Poeciloterpa minuta Lallemand, 1922 View in CoL
( Figs 84–98 View FIGURES 84–91 View FIGURES 92–98 )
Poeciloptera (sic) nigrilumbata (sic) var. minuta Lallemand 1922: 276 ; Schmidt 1927: 148, equals to Poeciloterpa latipennis Schmidt, 1920 View in CoL (error); Lallemand 1949: 86.
Lallemand (1922) described this species but did not provide any illustration and gave no account on the sex of the type specimen mentioned in the description. We examined the type material kept in the NHM, 1 female [type] and 1 male [paratype] were available. The general appearance of P. minuta and P. latipennis are very similar but the male genitalia are clearly different.
Here, we provide for the first time, the detailed description and illustration of male terminalia ( Figs 92–97 View FIGURES 92–98 ) including photographs of the habitus of the male paratype and female holotype ( Figs 84–91 View FIGURES 84–91 ).
Male terminalia ( Fig. 92 View FIGURES 92–98 ). In lateral view, pygofer ( Fig. 93 View FIGURES 92–98 ) dorsal margin longer than ventral margin, dorsal and ventral margins almost straight, posterior margin undulating irregularly. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 97 View FIGURES 92–98 ) on ventral view diverging slightly on 2/3 of their length then getting abruptly thinner, converging strongly and crossing each other; laterally, subgenital plates regularly tapered towards 2/3 of length then drastically tapering towards apex into a sword-like process; lateral plate present and irregular ( Fig. 94 View FIGURES 92–98 ). Paramere ( Fig. 95 View FIGURES 92–98 ) dorsal margin rounded in middle and bearing short and scarce set of setae, ventral margin almost straight then curving up strongly, this last portion bearing short and scarce setae, posterodorsal angle of paramere angled with spine-like process. Aedeagus ( Fig. 96 View FIGURES 92–98 ) with apical extension curling towards ventral direction and being rounded at apex, posterior protrusion hook-shaped, very sharp and pointing posteroventrally.
Type material examined. Holotype ♀: [ Mt. Makiling , Luzon, Baker], [2176], [Lallemand Coll. B.M. 1955- 832], [♀], [Type], [ TYPE], ( NHM).
Male Paratype: [ Mt. Makiling , Luzon, Baker], [Lallemand Coll. B.M. 1955-832], [Paratype], [Paratype], ( NHM) .
