scientific name

Polyxena corymbosa (L.) Jessop
status

Hyacinthus corymbosus Linnaeus , Mantissa Plantarum Altera: 223. 1771.

"Habitat in Cap. b. spei pascuis. Koenig." RCN: 2493.

Neotype (Stearn in Ann. Mus. Goulandris 8: 214, f. 19. 1990): Herb. Linn. No. 438.9 ( LINN) .

Current name: Polyxena corymbosa (L.) Jessop ( Liliaceae / Hyacinthaceae ).

Note: Jessop (in J. S. African Bot. 42: 429. 1976) noted that 438.9 (LINN) was unannotated by Linnaeus and did not appear to have come from König so could not be the type. Stearn subsequently designated it as a neotype.
