Described from a single specimen collected in Auckland, New Zealand ( Saussure 1870), this species has not been recorded since and was likely brought into the country from elsewhere ( Ramsay 1990). All Australian specimens collected by Tindale are misidentified T. blanchardi ( Tindale 1923) , and hence the species is removed from the Australian list.
