Paraoxypilus insularis ( Tindale, 1923)
The type female of this species has small but distinct tegmina; this was apparently overlooked by Tindale as he makes no mention of it in his description. No known Paraoxypilus females are winged, and combined with the more slender abdomen, relatively unarmed forecoxae, and less dilated forefemora, this species is much better placed in Phthersigena . As the name is preoccupied by Phthersigena insularis Beier, 1965 , however, it is for now retained in Paraoxypilus until both genera receive more detailed study.
