DISTRIBUTION: Java.

COMMENT: Formerly included in Hylopetes ; see Medway, 1977: 102. May be conspecific with genibarbis ; see Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1955, SuppL to Chasen, (1940), Handlist of Malaysian Mamm., p. 31. Medway, 1977:102, considered it inadvisable to synonymize sagitta and genibarbis until the relationship has been certainly established.
