Erect, deciduous shrubs. Stems slender, with straight, paired prickles and often acicles. Flowers few, in corymbs. Sepals patent and soon deciduous after anthesis. Pedicels and hypanthium glandular-hispid, rarely smooth. Carpels confined to the bottom of the hypanthium.
