Habropogon doriae Rondani, 1873 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1873f: 297.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ Persia sept. [northern Persia]”.
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype ( MSNG): Persia settent.e [northern Persia], 1862–63, Coll. G. Doria / Typus / Habropogon doriae Rndn. , ♂ / Habropogon doriae Rndn. 1873 , n. sp.
PARALECTOTYPE EXAMINED: 1 ♀ ( MSNG): Persia settent.e [northern Persia], 1862–63, Coll. G. Doria / Typus / Habropogon doriae Rndn. , ♀ .
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Lehr 1988: 240).
REMARKS: Rondani (1873f: 297) described Habropogon doriae from an unspecified number of specimens collected by G. Doria , without selecting a holotype from among the syntypes. Guiglia (1957: 195) reported the “type” and one “cotype” of Habropogon doriae in the MSNG (♂ ♀. Type and cotype). She unambiguously selected the type (male) and cotype (female), which therefore must be considered, respectively, as the lectotype and paralectotype (I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 74.5). Raineri & Rey (1996: 29) also considered the MSNG specimens as the “type and cotype”.
