Chorthophila trichodactyla Rondani, 1866 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1866a: 157 (key), 164 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle subapennino lunensi [sub-Apennine hill in Lunigiana (Tuscany, Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, holotype ( MZUF: Box 23): Chorthophila Mcq. / trichodactyla Rnd., Ap. [= Apennines] Lun. [= Lunigiana] / 1214.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Delia florilega ( Zetterstedt, 1845) View in CoL ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 43, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 6).
REMARKS: Rondani (1866a: 164) described Chorthophila trichodactyla from a single male: “ Marem unicum legi [I collected a single male]”. The MZUF also contains an additional specimen (non-type) dated 1878. Hennig (1974b: 824) incorrectly proposed a type series, even though Rondani explicitly mentioned only a single male. Rondani described this nominal species under the generic name Chorthophila , which is an “unjustified emendation of Chortophila Macquart, 1835 ” ( O’Hara et al. 2011: 57).
