ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1877c: 234 (key), 235 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hill ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype (missing head, right wing, right mid- and hind-legs, thorax partially eaten by dermestids) ( MZUF: Box 23): Hylephila inflata n. / 1243 .

CURRENT STATUS: doubtful species of Leucophora Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 View in CoL ( Dely-Draskovits 1993: 71).

REMARKS: Rondani (1877c: 235) described Hylephila inflata from just the female sex, without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Semel foeminam legi [I collected the female once]”. Hennig (1967a: 135) reported the holotype for this nominal species in the MZUF and incorrectly wrote that it was missing the abdomen.
