ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1877c: 46 (key), 61 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in colle sub-apennino ditionis parmensis [ Parmese sub-Apennine hill ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MZUF: Box 25): Homalomyia B.é Myiantha [sic!] Rnd. / observanda n. / 1327.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Euryomma peregrinum ( Meigen, 1826) View in CoL ( Pont 1986a: 42, Gorodkov et al. 1995: 8).
REMARKS: Rondani (1877c: 61) described Homalomyia observanda from a single female: “ Marem non observavi: specimen tantum foemineum vidi [I never observed the male: I saw a female specimen once]”. Rondani (1866a: 123; 1877c: 42) considered Homalomyia Bouché, 1834 as a senior synonym of Myantha Rondani, 1856 .
