CURRENT STATUS: valid species, as Ludovicius impar View in CoL ( Negrobov 1991: 81, Pesarini et al. 1995: 18); valid species, as Sybistroma impar ( Yang et al. 2006: 204) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1843d: 43) described both sexes of Ludovicius impar without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, despite there being 22 specimens in the type series found in this study. An additional two MZUF males (pinned together) numbered “2293” from “Etrur.” [= Etruria (Tuscany) ] are not included in the type series because they are not from the type locality.
