ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875a: 262 (key), 265 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Italia australi [southern Italy]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype (dirty, missing right wing, dissected) ( MZUF: Box 35): Leucopis Mgn / minuscula Rnd., Sicil. [= Sicily] / 1815 / Holotypus Leucopis (Leucopis) minuscula Rond. , det. G. Morge, Ex. 12 / Holotypus ♀ Leucopis (Leucopis) minuscula Rondani, 1874 [sic!], A. Raspi.
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Tanasijtshuk 1984: 228, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 7, Raspi & Benelli 2016: 204).
REMARKS: Rondani (1875a: 265) described Leucopis minuscula , without specifying its sex, from a single specimen, “ specimen unicum observavi in Italia australi lectum et mihi trasmissum [sic!] a Cl. Haliday [I observed a single specimen collected in southern Italy and sent to me by Mr. Haliday]”.
