Psilidae View in CoL View at ENA
This family of small acalyptrate flies contains 324 predominantly Holarctic and Afrotropical species ( Marshall 2012, Evenhuis & Pape 2020). In his “ Stirps Chylizinae ”, rather than in the family Psilidae proposed by Macquart (1835), Rondani (1876d) described five Palaearctic nominal species, two considered as valid and three as junior synonyms ( Soós 1984 a, Nartshuk et al. 1995). Soós (1982b) examined the type material in the MZUF and designated a lectotype for Chyliza permixta Rondani, 1876 , Loxocera maculata Rondani, 1876 , Psila bertolinii Rondani, 1876 and Psila sardoa Rondani, 1876 . Except for one paralectotype in the OUMNH and one in the MNHN, the type material has been recovered for all nominal species and is in the MZUF.
