CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Oxypsila abdominalis (Schummel, 1844) View in CoL ( Soós 1984a: 29, Nartshuk et al. 1995: 4).
REMARKS: Rondani (1876d: 190) described both sexes of Psila bertolinii without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ raro lectus uterque sexus a Cl. De Bertolini [both sexes rarely collected by Mr. De Bertolini]”. Soós (1982b: 156) designated a lectotype (♂) and paralectotype (♀). Rondani spelled this nominal species as “ bertolinii ” in his key (p. 189) and as “ bertolini ” in his description (p. 190) and index (p. 198). Becker (1905: 159) Hennig (1941: 16) and Soós (1982b: 156) listed this nominal species as “ bertolini ”, Soós (1984a: 29) and Nartshuk et al. (1995: 4) listed it as “ bertolinii ”. O’Hara et al. (2011: 207) listed both names and, acting as First Revisers (according to I.C.Z.N. 1999: Article 24.2.3), they determined “ bertolinii ” as the correct original spelling and “ bertolini” as the incorrect original spelling
