ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861e: 139.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus agri parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype (slightly moldy, missing right fore- and left mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 17): Phyto Desv. / adolescens Rnd. / 885 / lectotype ♂ Phyto adolescens Rnd., T. Pape det., 1986 / Phyto adolescens Rnd., T. Pape det., 1986.

CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Pape 1989: 355, Herting 1993: 108, Pape et al. 1995: 16, Peris & González-Mora 2007: 50; Cerretti et al. 2020: 87).

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 139) described Phyto adolescens from some males: “ Mares tantum aliquos legi [I collected some males only]” but we found only one male in the MZUF. Pape (1989: 355) designated a lectotype (♂). The MZUF also contains a (non-type) female.
