Eumerus sulcitibius Rondani, 1868 View in CoL View at ENA
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1868a: 24.
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in collibus ditionis parmensis [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, 1 ♀, syntypes (right hind-leg glued on a triangular label pinned below specimen) ( MZUF: Box 4): Eumerus Mgn / sulcitibius Rnd. / 134 .
CURRENT STATUS: valid species ( Peck 1988: 163, Belcari et al. 1995a: 16, Steenis et al. 2017: 158).
REMARKS: Rondani (1868a: 24) described both sexes of Eumerus sulcitibius without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ uterque sexus lectus [collected both sexes]”. We found two syntypes in this study. An additional two specimens numbered “134” from “Madon., Sici. [= Madonie Mts , Sicily]” are not included in the type series because they are not from the type locality .
