TYPE LOCALITY: “ in Apennino parmensi [ Parmese Apennines ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (covered with mold, missing left fore- and both mid-legs) ( MZUF: Box 16): Bonannia Rnd. / monticola Rnd. , ♂ / 850; 1 ♀, syntype (missing left mid-leg) ( MZUF: Box 16): Bonannia Rnd. / monticola Rnd. , ♀ / 850; 1 ♀, syntype (missing left mid-leg) ( MSNC: Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Bonannia R. monticola R. 136 ♀ Parma / Coll. Rondani, scatola n° 2, posiz. D-5 / Museo di Storia Naturale Università di Pisa, Calci ( PI) ex collezione Rondani.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Tryphera lugubris ( Meigen, 1824) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 212, O’Hara et al. 2020: 365).

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 119) described both sexes of Bonannia monticola without specifying the exact number of specimens and not giving a range of lengths. We found three syntypes in this study.
