Nemorilla amica Rondani, 1859 View in CoL
ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1859b: 100 (key), 102 (description).
TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agro parmensi [Parmese territory ( Italy)]”.
TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, lectotype (missing left fore-, mid- and hind-legs) ( MZUF: Box 11): Nemorilla Rnd. / amica Rnd. / 559.
PARALECTOTYPE NOT EXAMINED: 1 ♂ (missing right fore- and left mid-legs) ( MSNC: Box DIPTERA Ex collezione Rondani - I): Nemorilla amica R. 380 Parma / Coll. Rondani, scatola n° 5, posiz. B-1 / Museo di Storia Naturale Università di Pisa, Calci ( PI) ex collezione Rondani.
CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Nemorilla floralis (Fallén, 1810) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 183) .
REMARKS: Rondani (1859b: 102) described Nemorilla amica from just the male sex without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ exemplaria tantum mascula observavi [I observed male specimens only]”. Herting (1975: 6) designated a lectotype from the largest male of the series, but did not label it as such. Not included by him in the type series is an additional MZUF male numbered “559” because it belongs to a different species, and he did not mention an additional male in the MSNC (both are paralectotypes). An additional MZUF male numbered “559” is not included in the type series because its labels is yellowish rather than the greenish color of Rondani’s original handwritten ones and is in a lower row in the Box, for which reason we treat it to be a subsequent addition.
