ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1861d: 280 (key), 281 (description).

TYPE LOCALITY: “ in agri Parmensis collibus [ Parmese hills ( Italy)]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♂, syntype (missing head and left mid-leg) ( MZUF: Box 18): Prosena Servill. / luculliana Rnd. , ♂ / 977.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Prosena siberita ( Fabricius, 1775) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 367) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1861d: 281) described Prosena luculliana from just the male sex without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens: “ Foeminam non vidi [I did not observe the female]”. We found one syntype in this study.
