CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Bithia spreta ( Meigen, 1824) ( Herting & Dely-Draskovits 1993: 340) .

REMARKS: Rondani (1861e: 52) described both sexes of Myobia discreta without specifying either the number or the length of the specimens that he had collected and that he had also received from P.J.M. Macquart and K. von Roser (under the name Myobia spreta ( Meigen, 1824)) and G. Galeazzi. We found six syntypes in this study.
