Celtis adolfi-friderici Engler (1909: 308) View in CoL View at ENA .
Type: — AFRICA. Congo Republic, Kivu, near Ruwenzori, Muera Forest , January 1908, fr., G.W.J. Mildbraed 2242 (lectotype, designated here, B barcode 10 0057828!) .
Syntypes: —AFRICA. Congo Republic, Kivu, near Ruwenzori , January 1908, fl., G.W.J. Mildbraed 2169 (syntypes B barcode 10 0057827!, B barcode 10 0057829!); AFRICA. Congo Republic, Kivu, near Ruwenzori, February 1908, fl., G.W.J. Mildbraed 2725 (missing material) .
Nomenclatural notes: —When describing C. adolfi-friderici, Engler (1909) cited the syntypes G.W.J. Mildbraed 2169, 2242, and 2725 without specifying the herbarium in which they were conserved. Polhill (1964) and Sattarian et al. (2006) stated that the syntypes are at B. When we contacted the curator of B, we were informed that specimen G.W.J. Mildbraed 2725 is missing. Engler (1909) mentions that C. adolfi-friderici and C. prantlii are morphologically similar and that the size of the fruits is the main characteristic that distinguishes these taxa. Based on these comments, we designate the specimen at Herb. B with barcode 10 0057828 as the lectotype (ICN Art. 9.3.), because this sample has fruits.
Taxonomic notes: —Accepted species ( Sattarian et al. 2006).
