Type: — CROATIA. Kvarner: Croatia, Sibinj, presso Senj , Quarnero , litorale roccioso, 9 November 2006, Brullo, Bogdanović & Giusso s.n. (holotype CAT!; isotypes CAT!, ZAGR!) ( Figs. 15 View FIGURE 15 , 44 View FIGURE 44 ) .

Diagnosis: — Planta dense pubescens , dense foliosa secus partem superiorem caudicularum, foliis rugosis, lineari-spathulatis, leviter retusis, revolutis margine, 1-nervis, scapis numerosis, prostratis ad adscendentibus, rugosis, ramis sterilibus numerosis, inflorescentia reticulata, ramosa, spicis rectis ad curvatis, bractea inferiore ovata, obtusa, bractea superiore oblonga, obtusa, calice tubo dense piloso, lobis ovato-triangularibus, acutis.

Description: —Plant perennial, 8–40 cm tall, densely pubescent (hairs 0.05–0.1 mm long), with robust tap-root. Caudices branched, 1–6 cm long, densely covered by leaves in the upper part. Leaves rigid, rugose, densely pubescent, green, 7–35 mm long, 1–3 mm wide, linear-spathulate, slightly retuse at the apex, revolute at the margin, 1-nerved, gradually tapering into a long petiole. Stems numerous, prostrate to ascending, rugose, with numerous sterile branches, flexuous, fragile at nodes, very branched, diverging at the angle of 70–140(–180)°, internodes 5–20 mm long, right to curved. Inflorescence reticulate, branched from the base; spikes 7–30 mm long, straight to curved. Spikelets 4.5–5 mm long, 3–5-flowered, 5–7 per cm; outer bract 1.2–1.4 mm long, 1.2–1.4 mm wide, ovate, obtuse, with margin glabrous, narrowly membranous, and central part fleshy, densely hairy, acuminate; middle bract 1.3–1.5 mm long, 1–1.1 mm wide, ovate, obtuse at the apex, membranous, hairy in the central part and veins; inner bract 2.7–3 mm long, 1.8–2.2 mm wide, oblong, obtuse, with margin membranous, glabrous, 0.15–0.2 mm wide, and central part fleshy, densely hairy, 1.4–1.8 mm wide, acuminate, forming a triangular tip, 0.3 mm long, reaching the upper margin. Calyx 3.7–4.2 mm long, exserted 1.6–1.8 mm from the inner bract, densely hairy in the tube, with 5 totally hairy ribs, slightly exceeding the base of the lobes; calyx lobes 0.8–0.9 × 0.7–0.8 mm, triangular-ovate, acute. Corolla lilac. Chromosome number 2n=18.

Etymology: —This species is dedicated to A. Ž. Lovrić, a Croatian botanist who studied the Kvarner flora.

Distribution and ecology: —This species occurs along the coast between Crikvenica and Senj (southern Kvarner) and in the south-eastern part of the Krk island ( Fig. 28C View FIGURE 28 ) It grows on windswept limestones slopes, where it occupies a narrow belt near the sea.
