Type genus. Aphodius Hellwig, 1798 (see Alonso-Zarazaga & Krell 2011).

The new taxon shares following synapomorphies with the members of Aphodiini View in CoL : 1) labrum and mandibles invisible in antero-dorsal view; 2) scutellum well visible in dorsal view; 3) pronotum without any longitudinal groove; head without any longitudinal groove or costa; 4) protibia not perpendicularly truncate apically; 5) metatibial spurs separated by basal tarsomere; abdominal ventrites not fused, freely moveable.
