Bucculatrix duanwuia Liu, 2020 View in CoL
Bucculatrix duanwuia Liu, 2020: 182–188 View in CoL , in Wang et al. (2020). TL: Shandong, China. TD: SDNU.
( Figs. 2B View FIGURE 2 , 3B, 3C View FIGURE 3 )
Adult ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ). Wingspan 7.0 mm. Head white with mixed brown scales; labial palpus small and smooth; antennae white, mixed with brown; segments black. Thorax and abdomen white; fore- and midlegs yellow with black spots on the dorsal side; hindlegs yellow with beige stripes dorsally. Forewing ground colour white with mixed pale orange scales; a pale yellow stripe extending from the base towards the central dorsal yellow patch; the first stripe extending from 1/3 of the wing base towards the center; a yellow stripe running along the costal margin up to the apex, bordered by black; apex mixed with yellow scales and scattered with black scales; cilia greyish-white, scattered with black scales along the outer margin. Hindwings and cilia greyish-white.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ). Tegumen distinctly sclerotised laterally, with projections bearing spines on both sides. Vinculum strongly sclerotised, with the anterior median part concave. Ventral plate of the juxta trapezoidal overall, strongly sclerotised. Valva strongly sclerotised, thickened dorsally, with the basal 2/3 nearly of equal width, terminal 1/3 with straight dorsal and ventral margins, outer margin triangular; the apex bears short serrate bristles. Aedeagus about twice the length of the valva, thickened at the base, gradually narrowing toward the tip, with an S-shaped curve before the apex, apical hook about 1/7 of the aedeagus length.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ). Papillae anales sclerotised with dense spines at the apex. Apophyses anteriores approximately four times longer than apophyses posteriores, extending to the anterior margin of the eighth segment; apophyses posteriores short and slender. The eighth sternite weakly sclerotised dorsally, with a pair of scale tufts beside the median part; the anterior half sclerotised and undulated at the anterior margin. Antrum funnel-shaped. Sternum VIII exhibits a deep and broad U-shaped emargination on the posterior margin, strongly edged laterally and folded anteriorly. The medial 1/3 of sternum VIII is membranous and densely covered with microspines. Ductus bursae membranous and slender. Corpus bursae elongate-ovoid, membranous, with the signa formed of a comb-like membranous plate.
DNA barcodes. The NJ tree constructed confirmed the monophyly of B. duanwuia with high bootstrap support (bootstrap value = 100; Figure 1 View FIGURE 1 ). The DNA barcode of B. duanwuia obtained in this study showed 98.91% genetic similarity to B. duanwuia registered in BOLD (BIN ID: BUCCN039-20). The sequence of B. duanwuia found in Korea has been registered in NCBI (Accession number: PQ300552-300555).
