Gobius paganellus View in CoL L., 1758

The Rock Goby is a common intertidal species, occurring from the British Isles to the Canary islands and at least Senegal ( Miller, 1986, 1990). It has been listed for the Cape Verdes by Reiner (1996) but without reference to precise records and has not been found in present material, although abundant on the Cape Verde peninsula (listed above for G. ateriformis , to which G. paganellus bears a super®cial resemblance).
