TYPE LOCALITY: Canada, "from marshy places from Hudson's Bay to the RockyMtns."

DISTRIBUTION: Montane and boreal areas of North America below the tree linefrom Alaska to the Sierra Nevada, Rocky, and Appalachian mtns.

COMMENT: Hall, 1981:43 noted that alaskanus may be a subspecies ofpalustris.
