Distribution:— According to Govaerts et al. (2016), Cyrtorchis seretii occurs in four countries ( Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia).We have, however, seen specimens clearly assignable to this species from Ethiopia. Cyrtorchis seretii is thus widely distributed in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Habitat and ecology:— Woodland, between 440 and 1,500 m elevation. Flowering peaks in June and August.
