Head pale yellow with grayish white pruinosity. Frons yellow, as long as wide and parallel-sided; ocellar triangle pale brown; oc strong, longer than anterior or, anterior or longer than 1/2 length of posterior or. Face pale yellow, parafacial white. Gena pale yellow with grayish white pruinosity, about 1/5 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere 1.6 times longer than high; arista with ray short plumose, longest ray slightly longer than 1/2 height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis yellow and palpus pale yellow.

Thorax yellow with grayish white pruinosity. Mesonotum without brownish stripe; 0+3 dc (1st post-sutural dc behind transverse suture), acr in 6 rows and prsc shorter than 1st post-sutural dc. Scutellum yellow. Legs pale yellow except for all tarsomeres 4–5 brown. Fore femur with 2 pv, 3–4 pd, and ctenidium with 6 short setae; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 3 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 1 strong apv. Hind femur with 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 1 – 12 ) slightly brown, subcostal cell hyaline; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 6:2:1; r-m at middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.1; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/4 of penultimate. Abdomen yellow with sparse grayish white pruinosity. Male genitalia ( Figs 143–146 View FIGURES 143 – 146 ): syntergosternite confluent with epandrium; epandrium broad quadrate having two claviform subapical processes with two acute tips; surstylus with a subuliform process; hypandrium nearly V-shaped, confluent with pregonite; pregonite short falciform apically; aedeagus very broad, with two pairs of middle ventral teeth and a pair of apical teeth in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme longer than aedeagus.

Type material. Holotype ♂ ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: Wanning, Jianling, 400 m, 13. V. 2008, Qifei Liu. Paratypes: 1 ♂, 2 ♀ ( CAUC), CHINA, Hainan Province: data same as holotype.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Remarks. The new species is very similar to Homoneura (Homoneura) pallidula Malloch from China ( Taiwan) in arista with ray short plumose and mid tibia with 1 strong pv, but it can be separated from the latter by the syntergosternite being confluent with the epandrium, the epandrium being very broad quadrate and having two claviform subapical processes with two acute tips, and the surstylus having a subuliform process. In H. (H.) pallidula , the syntergosternite is separated from the epandrium; the epandrium is rectangular without subapical processes and the surstylus has two apical processes ( Malloch, 1929).

Etymology. The species is named after the type locality Jianling.
