Diagnosis. Wing with brown apical spot on R2+3 separated from apical spot on R4+5; apical spots on R4+5 slightly confluent with that of M1, forming a pale brown connecting area between two apical spots; a small elliptical spot on R4+5 situated at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu; brown stripe-like spot constricted at middle on dm-cu; subcostal cell pale brown apically. Abdomen yellow. Syntergosternite nearly circular with a large membranous ventral section in anterior view; epandrium slender with a ventral concavity in lateral view; surstylus broad with a small and acute apical process; aedeagus slender and narrow apically in ventral view, with small lateral tooth and acute triangular dorsal process in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme broad.
Redescription. MALE. Body length 5.4 mm, wing length 5.9 mm. FEMALE. Body length 5.5 mm, wing length 6.1 mm.
Head ( Figs 61, 62 View FIGURES 60 – 65 ) yellow. Frons as long as wide; ocellar triangle yellow; oc developed, as long as posterior or, extending to anterior margin of frons; anterior or slightly shorter than posterior or; gena about 1/7 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere yellow; 1st flagellomere 2.0 times as long as height; arista brown except for yellow base, ray long plumose with longest ray slightly longer than height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis and palpus yellow.
Thorax ( Figs 61, 63 View FIGURES 60 – 65 ) yellow. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc (anteriormost dc distinctly behind transverse suture), acr in irregular 8–10 rows, prsc longer than anteriormost dc. Legs yellow, tarsomeres 3–5 pale brown. Fore femur with 3–5 strong pv (male 3, female 5), 8 pd, and ctenidium with 15 short setae; fore tibia with 1 long preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 4–5 a (male 4, female 5) and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with 2 av (on apical 1/4) and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 65 View FIGURES 60 – 65 ) pale yellow, brown apical spot on R2+3 separated from apical spot on R4+5; apical spot on R4+5 slightly confluent with that of M1, forming a pale brown connecting area between two apical spots; a small elliptical spot on R4+5, at middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu; brown stripe-like spot constricted at middle on dm-cu; subcostal cell pale brown apically; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 5:1.4:1; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.7; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/7 of penultimate. Halter yellow.
Abdomen ( Fig. 64 View FIGURES 60 – 65 ) yellow. Male genitalia ( Figs 66–70 View FIGURES 66 – 70 ): syntergosternite nearly circular with a large membranous ventral section in anterior view; epandrium slender with a ventral concavity in lateral view; surstylus broad with a small and acute apical process; hypandrium Y-shaped; pregonite and postgonite subuliform and curved apically; aedeagus slender and narrow apically in ventral view, with small lateral tooth and acute triangular dorsal process in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme broad.
Type material. Holotype ♂, Allotype ♀ ( USNM, No. 40881), CHINA, Szechuen (Sichuan Province): Mt Omei, Shin Kai Si, 4000 feet, D.C.Graham.
