Homoneura (Homoneura) tianjingshanica View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs 20 View FIGURES 13 – 24 , 300–304 View FIGURES 300 – 304 )

Diagnosis. Palpus yellow. Wing with brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 extending to tip of veins; basal edge of apical spot on R2+3 slightly behind vertical level of dm-cu, narrow apically and separated from apical spot on R4+5; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 slightly behind vertical level of spot on M1; length of apical spot on M1 shorter than half of ultimate section of M1; a small brown round spot on R4+5 behind middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu; a brown stripe-like spot on dm-cu.

Description. MALE. Body length 5.7 mm, wing length 6.0 mm.

Head yellow. Frons with a pair of pale brown medial stripes extending to vertex, as long as wide and parallelsided; ocellar triangle brownish yellow; oc developed, longer than posterior or. Gena about 1/4 height of eye. Antenna yellow, 1st flagellomere about 1.8 times as long as high; arista black except for pale brown base, ray plumose with longest ray slightly shorter than half height of 1st flagellomere. Proboscis and palpus yellow.

Thorax yellow with sparse grayish white pruinosity. Mesonotum with 0+3 dc (1st post-sutural dc clearly behind transverse suture), acr in irregular 8 rows, uniformly short hair-like; prsc shorter than 1st post-sutural dc. Scutellum yellow. Legs yellow. Fore femur with 3 strong pv and 6 pd, and ctenidium with 18 short setae; fore tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 1 short apv. Mid femur with 4 a and 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong preapical ad and 3 strong apv. Hind femur with a row of weak av (only 3 apical setae distinct) and 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 preapical ad and 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 13 – 24 ) slightly yellow, brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 extending to tip of veins; basal edge of apical spot on R2+3 slightly behind vertical level of dm-cu, narrow apically and separated from apical spot on R4+5; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 slightly behind vertical level of spot on M1; length of apical spot on M1 shorter than half of ultimate section of M1; a small brown round spot on R4+5 behind middle point of distance between r-m and dm-cu; a brown stripe-like spot on dm-cu; subcostal cell brown apically; costa with 2nd (between R1 and R2+3), 3rd (between R2+3 and R4+5) and 4th (between R4+5 and M1) sections in proportion of 5:1.7:1; r-m before middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 1:1.4; ultimate section of CuA1 about 1/6 of penultimate. Halter yellow.

Abdomen brownish yellow, with grayish white pruinosity. Male genitalia ( Figs 300–304 View FIGURES 300 – 304 ): syntergosternite circular with dorsal setulae; epandrium broad, extending backward apically in lateral view; surstylus triangular with tiny setulae on apical 2/3; hypandrium H-shaped, with an acute apical process in lateral view; pregonite absent, postgonite consisting of a broad elliptical process with a setula and a narrow triangular process in lateral view; aedeagus round apically with a pair of broad semicircular basal processes, a pair of curved triangular lateral processes in ventral view and a pair of small dorsoapical teeth in lateral view; aedeagal apodeme as long as aedeagus.

FEMALE. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype ♂ ( SYSU), CHINA, Guangdong Province: Ruyuan, Tianjingshan, V. 1974, Zhenhui Chen.

Distribution. China (Guangdong).

Remarks. The new species is similar to Homoneura (H.) tianmushana Yang, Hu & Zhu from China (Zhejiang) in the following characters: wing with brown apical spots on R2+3, R4+5 and M1 extending to tip of veins; basal edge of apical spot on R2+3 slightly behind vertical level of spot on dm-cu, apical spot on R2+3 narrow apically and separated from apical spot on R4+5; basal edge of apical spot on R4+5 slightly behind vertical level of that on M1; length of apical spot on M1 shorter than half of ultimate section of M1; a brown spot on dm-cu; subcostal cell brown apically; abdomen brownish yellow, with grayish white pruinosity. But it can be separated from the latter by a small brown round spot on R4+5 being present between r-m and dm-cu; the epandrium having a triangular projecting apical process in lateral view; the surstylus being round apically with tiny setulae. In Homoneura (H.) tianmushana , a brown quadrate medial spot locates between r-m and dm-cu; the epandrium has a round projecting apical process in lateral view and the surstylus is acute apically without tiny setulae ( Yang, Hu & Zhu, 2001).

Etymology. The new species is named after type locality Tianjingshan in Guangdong Province.
