According to Hoberlandt (1954) and Modarres Awal (1997b) E. integriceps is generally distributed in Iran.
General distribution. Northeastern Mediterranean basin (from Italy), not in Cyprus, Caucasus, Central Asia extending to China, Near East, Egypt, Pakistan.
Host plants. On barley ( Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1997b), wheat ( Farahbakhsh 1961; Modarres Awal 1996a, b, 1997a, b, 2008; Khanjani 2006; Hassanzadeh et al. 2009a, b; Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010a, b), under Astragalus sp. ( Fabaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1996a), blue-grass, brome chess, brome grass, bulbous, intermediate wheatgrass, milk vetch, mitre cress, mountain rye, Persian candle, Aegilops sp. , Agropyron caespitosum , A. libanoticum , A. pectiniform , A. trichophorum , Boissiera squarrosa , Bromus lanceolatus , B. tectorum var. hirsutus , B. tectorum var. tectorum , B. tomentellus , Secale montanum , Eremopyrum bonapartis var. sublanuginosum , E. distans , Hordeum glaucum , H. spontaneum , Heteranthelium pitiferum , Stipa hohenackeriana , Taeniatherum crinitum ( Poaceae ), Helichrysum oligocephalum ( Asteraceae ), Hypecoum pendulum ( Papaveraceae ), Silene arguta ( Caryophyllaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1997b), Poaceae ( Heiss 2002; Linnavuori 2008), Triticum vulgare ( Poaceae ) (Sakenin et al. 2008), Hordeum vulgare , Triticum aestivum (both Poaceae ) ( Nateq Golestan & Modarres Awal 2012).
Comment. A great number of varieties have been described for this species which have no taxonomic value, e.g. nigra , ferruginea, testacea, grisescens, plagiata by Reuter, 1900, hellenica , subgrisea, nigricans, fieberi by Kirkaldy, 1909.
