Distribution in Iran. Alborz ( Lindberg 1938; Safavi 1959), Ardabil ( Hoberlandt 1955; Safavi 1959), East Azarbaijan ( Modarres Awal 1997b; Ghahari et al. 2010a), Fars (Linnavuori 2012), Golestan ( Kiritshenko 1949; Safavi 1959; Modarres Awal 1997b), Guilan ( Hoberlandt 1955; Linnavuori 2008), Kerman ( Hoberlandt 1997), Khorasan ( Modarres Awal 1996a, 1997b; Mehneh et al. 2010), Mazandaran ( Wagner 1968; Sakenin et al. 2008), Tehran ( Safavi 1959; Hoberlandt 1997; Modarres Awal 1997b), West Azarbaijan (Nateq Golestan 2004; Nateq Golestan et al. 2004, 2010a, b, c, 2011), Iran (no locality cited) ( Oshanin 1906, 1912 as Stagonomus italicus Gmelin ; Derjanschi & Péricart 2005; Rider 2006).

New data. Isfahan province: Javinan, qamsar to Ghohrood road, N33° 41’ 41/7’’ – E51° 26’ 45.9’’, 6943 ft asl, 9.v.2013, J. Haxaire rec, P. Ducamps det et leg.

General distribution. Euro-Siberian except Great Britain and Scandinavia, known in the Maghreb and Near East, mentioned in India.

Host plants. On Medicago sativa ( Fabaceae ) ( Modarres Awal 1996a), lucerne ( Modarres Awal 1997b), Salvia sp. ( Lamiaceae ) ( Dusoulier & Lupoli 2006; Linnavuori 2008), Portulaca oleracea ( Portulacaceae ), Verbena officinalis ( Verbenaceae ) (Sakenin et al. 2008), Rubus sp. ( Rosaceae ) ( Nateq Golestan et al. 2011).
