Notes
Species complex. Radashevsky et al. (2016) provide molecular evidence that at least two sibling species are present in the Pacific Ocean. However, high genetic similarity was found between European and West Atlantic specimens. Currently, no evidence exists for the presence of more than one species in the Mediterranean.
