( Figs 2. A–G View FIGURE 2. A – G )

Diagnosis. Sigillar fields of prodorsum short, median a little broadened in anterior part. Sensilli long, with spindle-shaped head. Lamellar and rostral setae fine and short. Exobothridial setae vestigial. Median setae of notogaster and setae c2, e2, h2 rigid covered with cilia in distal half; other ventral setae fine and smooth. Number of genitoaggenital setae is 7 pairs.

Description. Measurements of holotype: prodorsum: length 164, width 120, height 78; sensillus 58, setae: interlamellar 61, lamellar 13, rostral 20; notogaster: length 311, width 192, height 202; setae: c1 and h1 66, p1 56; genitoaggenital plate 91 x51; anoadanal plate 129 x53. Measurements of the smallest paratype: prodorsum: length 151, width 106, height 66; notogaster: length 283, width 151, height 162. Measurements of the largest paratype: length 177, width 131, height 81; notogaster: length 348, width 278, height 222.

Colour light brown. Integument densely porose.

Prodorsum with short sigillar fields, median a little broadened in anterior part, longer than laterals. Lateral carinae of modest length not reaching as far as sinus. Sensilli long, with spindle-shaped head covered with short cilia. Interlamellar (in) setae long, rigid, erect, spinose in distal half, lamellar (le) and rostral (ro) setae considerably shorter, smooth, exobothridial setae vestigial; in> ro> le.

Notogaster with 15 pairs of setae. Median setae and setae c2, e2, h2 rigid covered with cilia in distal half; other ventral setae fine and smooth, c1 <c1-d1; setae c1-3 slightly remote from anterior margin. Vestigial setae f1 positioned posterior to setae h1. Two pairs of lyrifissures, ia and im, present.

Ventral region. Setae h of mentum considerably longer than distance between them. Genitoaggenital plates with unusual number of 7 pairs of setae with formula: 5(4+2): 1. Anoadanal plates each with 5 welldeveloped attenuate setae, setae ad1 and ad2 longer than anal setae, setae ad3 the shortest.

Legs. Formulae of setae and solenidia of complete type. Seta d on femora I situated at distal end of article.

Types. Holotype and 33 paratypes: BO-2, one paratype: BO-1.

Comparison. The new species may be distinguished from its congeners by the different shape of the notogastral setae, median setae and setae c2, e2, h2 rigid, covered with cilia in distal half, other setae fine and smooth. Plonaphacarus eximius ( Niedbała, 1982) has also heteromorphic notogastral setae but all setae are rigid and covered sparsely with small cilia and setae c1-3, h1, p1 the longest, setae d1, e1, h2, p1-4 of medium length, setae cp, d2, e2, h3 the shortest.

Etymology. The specific name heterosetosus refers to the different shape of the notogastral setae and is latinized Greek heteros meaning “other”, “different”.
