Type material. Described from holotype and 1 paratype. Type locality. “ Cochinchine, Saigon ”. Type specimens. Holotype ♂ ( MNHN): “ Saigon [p] 17–XII–49 [h] J. Barbier [p] \ Agrilus pilosotibialis m . Holotype (♂) [p] A. Descarpentries det. [p]”. Secondary types: 1 PT (MNHN).

Distribution. Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh).

Remarks. Known only from type specimens. Agrilus pilosotibialis is very likely conspecific with A. humilis because of having the same, very distinctive aedeagus. The species differs only by minor differences in habitus like finer structure of pronotum and reduced elytral pubescence in distal part. Baudon (1960, 1961, 1968) cited this species from Laos. These records need verification to exclude misidentification with other similar species of the group and therefore they are not included in the distribution. See also remarks at A. humilis .
