Diagnosis: Slightly modified from that of Schillhammer (2002, 2016), the group can be defined by the following characters: body broadly elongate with head trapezoid; antennae with antennomeres 7–10 asymmetrically extended; abdomen with tergites III–V with two basal lines; apical portion of male sternite IX with stout and long setae; median lobe rod-like, apical portion slightly bent dorsad in lateral view, lateral margin of apical portion of paramere with large number of peg-setae.
Distribution and diversity: The group is presently known from the Sunda region, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, southwestern and southern China, and it includes the following species: H. borneensis Bernhauer, 1915 , H. birmanus Cameron, 1932 , H. javanus Cameron, 1937 , H. malayanus Cameron, 1932 a , H. temburong Schillhammer, 2002 , H. watanabei Shibata, 2002 , H. wemmeri Schillhammer, 2002 , H. susannekontrusae Schillhammer, 2005 , H. rougemonti Schillhammer, 2016 and H. flexibilis sp. n..
