Figs. 1–2 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 .
Diagnosis. By monotypy, that of the genus.
Etymology. In honor of Miss Chenxi Liu, collector of the type specimen.
Holotype. CNU-A-NX2008001, a complete well-preserved forewing. Capital Normal University collection ( CNU), Beijing, China.
Type locality. Xiaheyan Village, Zhongwei County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China.
Type strata. Upper Carboniferous, Namurian B–C, Tupo Formation.
Description. Moderate-sized wing rather long and narrow, the broadest in the distal third of whole forewing, 29.4 mm long, 8.2 mm wide. Membrane originally probably with dark coloration, venation with numerous crossvein and dense network of cells between the branches of longitudinal veins.
ScP slightly curved, ending on RA in distal third of wing, branches of ScP numerous, basal branches reticulated, distal branches pectinate; area between ScP and anterior wing margin rather broad, 1.2 mm wide, area between distal of RA and anterior wing margin correspondingly narrow. Stem R bifurcated about 7.4 mm from wing base, RA reaching anterior wing margin near apex with pectinate branches in the terminal; RP almost parallel to RA, and basally close RA, slightly diverging near level of short fusion with MA; fusion of RP with MA 0.8 mm long, RP pectinated with one anterior branch and seven main posterior branches, most of which generally possess 2–3 secondary branches covering the whole wing apex. Stem M+CuA about 5.2 mm long, very close R at the basal, stem M diverging distally of division RA and RP, MA rather long, partly fused with RP at the level of the 3/5 of whole wing, then extending to outer margin about 4.3 mm long, and bifurcated, one branch with twigs near outer margin; MP shortly terminally twigged. Stem M + CuA about 5.2 mm from wing base, CuA + CuPa pectinated with eight main posterior branches bearing two thirds of whole posterior wing margin. CuPa simple, partly fuse with CuA, area between CuPa and CuPb largely broadened, with a network of cells; CuPb divided into CuPbα and CuPbβ, CuPbα distally vanishing in a network, CuPbβ faint. Area between CuPb and 1A very narrow, 1A with two main branches, 2A pectinate, with four irregular main branches, anal area distinctly reticulate.
