Trichocorixa verticalis (Fieber, 1851) View in CoL

A widespread North American species that was previously reported from St. Thomas, St. Croix and Puerto Rico, as well as many other Caribbean Islands ( Sailer 1948; Nieser 1969a), it has been introduced to Africa and Europe, where it has the potential of becoming invasive ( Carbonell et al. 2020). We found this species in saline pools and saline ponds at Magens Beach on St. Thomas and on Saba Island. The Saba Island records are the first from that site.
