Limnogonus franciscanus (Stål, 1859) View in CoL

This gerrid water strider was common and abundant. This species is well known from St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix ( Barber 1939; de Kort-Gommer and Nieser 1969; Nieser 1970a). We found this species on St. Thomas in ghuts, ponds, and mangrove brackish pools; wherever there was quiet, relatively calm water with little to no obvious surface current.
