Type Locality: "Latimodjong Mtns., central Celebes, 2300 meters" [C Sulawesi, Indonesia].
Vernacular Names: Montane Long-nosed Squirrel.
Distribution: Restricted to mountains of C Sulawesi ( Musser and Dagosto, 1987:44).
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Formerly included ileile ( Tate and Archbold, 1936:1) ; see comments therein.
