Frontal vitta and fronto-orbital plate black; face, parafacial and gena brown with golden pruinosity; antenna yellowish, pedicel brownish, basal half of arista yellow; palpus yellow; mesonotum metallic black with a slight blue reflection and with a weak grey-dusted central vitta anteriorly to presutural acrostichals; postpronotal lobe silver pruinose; legs brown; haltere yellow; calypters brownish with brown margins, upper calypter on outer half whitish and opaque; abdomen with weak grey pruinosity mainly laterally and ventrally.

Male. Body length: 6.0–8.0 mm; wing length: 6.0–7.0 mm.

Head. Eyes bare but with the usual minute and scattered hairs, separated at level of anterior ocellus by 0.16– 0.17 of head width; frons divergent towards lunule; ocellar triangle with a pair of setae and many setulae; 14–17 pairs of frontal setae; postpedicel about 2.1–2.3 times the length of pedicel; pedicel with 2 setae and a few setulae; arista plumose, with 19–20 cilia, bare apicad, and with some secondary plumes as far as level of 4th to 6th cilia; vibrissa shorter than arista; 1 supravibrissal seta, less than half the length of vibrissa, and a few setulae that extend to level of middle of postpedicel; 5 subvibrissal setae followed by 7–8 genal setae. Palpus expanded at apex.

Thorax. Acrostichals 0+1; dorsocentrals 0+3 (the first weaker); intra-alars 1+1; presutural 1; prealar 1, strong; supra-alars 2; postpronotals 4, the innermost weaker; notopleuron with 2 long, subequal setae and covered with ground-setulae; postalars 2; intrapostalar 1; scutellum with 2 basal, 1 latero-discal, 1 apical and 1 subapical strong setae, and latero-ventrally with many setae, the basalmost ones downcurved; postalar wall and suprasquamal ridge bare; proepisternal depression bare; proepimeron with about 3 long setae and many setulae; prosternum broad and setulose; anepisternum with a posterior row of about 10 setae, with 2 weak setae upcurved on upper-anterior corner, and covered with long setulae; katepisternals 1+2; anepimeron extensively setulose on posterior half; katepimeron with 2 setulae; anatergite bare; katatergite setulose. Legs: fore femur with a posterodorsal row of setae on basal two-thirds, and with a dorsal row and a complete posteroventral row of setae; fore tibia with an anterodorsal row of short and weak setae, many short ventral setae on apical half, 1 anterodorsal, 1 dorsal, and 1 posteroventral preapical setae, and anterior surface with a brush-like ctenidium of golden setulae; fore tarsus with some long setae on basal segment; mid femur with a tubercle at apex of anterodorsal to dorsal surfaces bearing about 3 agglutinated short spines that continue as about 5 posterodorsal to posterior setae, an anterodorsal row of setae, and 4–5 ventral setae on basal half; mid tibia with an anterodorsal comb-like ctenidium of very short spinose setulae on basal half and fine setae on apical half, a dorsal row of very short and strong setulae, 1 strong posterodorsal and 1 posterior setae on middle third and 2 strong posteroventral setae on basal third and 1 on apical third, 1 anterodorsal and 1 posterodorsal preapical setae and 1 anteroventral, 1 anterior, 1 posteroventral and 2 ventral apical setae; hind femur with an anteroventral row of setae on apical half and an anterodorsal row of setae, 3 dorsal to posterodorsal preapical setae, and few posteroventral setulae on apical fourth; hind tibia with 6 long anteroventral setae on apical half, an anterodorsal row of setae of different lengths, the 2 in the middle third stronger, a dorsal row of short but strong setulae, 2 strong posterior setae on basal third, 1 strong seta and 6 shorter setae on apical half, 1 anterodorsal preapical seta and 1 anteroventral, 1 ventral and 1 posteroventral apical setae, and a posterior brush-like ctenidium; hind tarsus with strong setae ventrally and a golden brush-like ctenidium. Wing with a uniform covering of microtrichia; dm-cu sinuous; stem-vein bare before, and with 4 short setulae after, humeral cross-vein on dorsal surface, bare on ventral surface; R2+3 bare on dorsal and ventral surfaces; R4+5 setulose from base to beyond r-m on dorsal and ventral surfaces; 3–4 strong setae on basicosta.

Abdomen. Tergites 2–5 with a few setae laterally and on disc; sternite 1 setulose; posterior margin of sternite 5 concave and with many setae on membrane.
