Frontal vitta and upper half of fronto-orbital plate shining black; lower half of fronto-orbital plate, face and parafacial brown; with weak silver pruinosity on frontal vitta and lower half of fronto-orbital plate; face silver pruinose; parafacial with silver pruinose patch on middle third; antenna yellow, basal half of arista yellow; palpus yellow; gena shining brown; mesonotum metallic black with a slight blue reflection and with one silver dusted central vitta in front of the acrostichals; pleura dark brown with blue reflections; legs brown; haltere yellow-whitish; calypters brownish with brown edge, upper calypter on outer half white and opaque; wing with a faint spot at humeral cross-vein; abdomen without pruinosity.
Male. Body length: 6.0–7.0 mm; wing length: 5.0–7.0 mm.
Head. Eyes bare, separated at level of anterior ocellus by about 0.10 of head width; frons divergent towards lunule; ocellar triangle with 1 pair of setae and 2 or 3 long setulae; 14–15 pairs of frontal setae; postpedicel 1.7–1.8 times the length of pedicel; pedicel with 2 setae; arista plumose, with 17–24 cilia, bare apicad, and with some secondary plumes as far as level of 4th or 8th cilia; vibrissa shorter than arista; 1 supravibrissal seta, less than half length of vibrissa, and few setulae that extend to level of middle of postpedicel; 5–7 subvibrissal setae followed by 8–10 genal setae. Palpus expanded at apex.
Thorax. Acrostichals 0+1; dorsocentrals 0+3 (the first weaker); intra-alars 1+1; presutural 1; prealar 1, strong; supra-alars 2; postpronotals 4, the innermost weaker; notopleuron with 2 long, subequal setae and covered with ground-setulae; postalars 2; no intrapostalar; scutellum with 1 basal, 1 latero-discal and 1 apical pairs of strong setae, and latero-ventrally with many setae, the basalmost ones downcurved; postalar wall with short pile; suprasquamal ridge bare; proepisternal depression bare; proepimeron with about 3–4 long setae and a few setulae; prosternum broad and bare, with short pile laterally; anepisternum with a posterior row of about 12 setae, with 1–2 weak setae upcurved on upper-anterior corner, and covered with long setulae; katepisternals 1+2 (the lower one weak); anepimeron extensively setulose; katepimeron with 1 or 2 setulae; anatergite bare; katatergite setulose. Legs: fore femur with a complete posterodorsal row of setae on apical two-thirds, a posteroventral row of setae on basal two-thirds, and a posterior row of setae on basal third; fore tibia with an anterodorsal row of short and strong setae, 1 anterodorsal and 1 dorsal apical setae, and anterior surface with a ctenidium; fore tarsus with some long setae on basal segment; mid femur with a tubercle at apex of anterior to posterodorsal surfaces bearing about 4 short agglutinated spines that continue as about 4 posterodorsal to posterior setae; mid tibia with an anterodorsal row of strong and very short setae, 1 strong posterior seta on middle third, 1 basal and 2 median posteroventral setae, 2 anteroventral, 1 posteroventral and 1 ventral apical setae; hind femur with 5 anteroventral setae on apical two-thirds, an anterodorsal row of setae, 2 posterodorsal preapical setae, and few posteroventral setulae on apical fourth; hind tibia with about 10 long and weak anteroventral and posteroventral setae on middle third, anterior setae on middle third, a row of strong and very short dorsal setae, many fine ventral setae on middle third, 1 dorsal preapical seta, 1 anteroventral, 1 anterior, 3 posteroventral and 1 ventral apical setae, and a preapical ventral ctenidium; hind tarsus with strong setae ventrally. Wing with a non-uniform covering of microtrichia; dm-cu sinuous; stem-vein bare before, and with 3 short setulae after, humeral cross-vein on dorsal surface, and bare on ventral surface; R2+3 bare on dorsal and ventral surfaces; R4+5 setulose from base to midway to r-m on dorsal surface and with two setulae on node ventrally; 4–5 strong setae on basicosta.
