Type Locality: Kenya, Taita Hills, summit of Mt. Sagalla.
Vernacular Names: Taita Shrew.
Distribution: SE Kenya and N Tanzania.
Discussion: Included in S. lixus by Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977), but specimens of aequatorius are considerably larger ( Oguge et al., 2004).
